Hi! I'm Wren Greyson, an author and artist of several books with Bitemark.
You may know me from 'A Summer of Static' or 'Caramel and Water Stains'. I'm a nonbinary creator who likes to write queer, slice-of-life stories and poems.
Find me on Instagram, and follow my art series on Bitemark's YouTube!
I have been writing since I was eight years old. My very first story was a fantasy about a dragon and a princess, and I illustrated it with pencil and crayon. I was very proud of it, and I showed it incessantly to any adult who spoke to me for several months.
Now, I have a bachelor's in Creative Writing, published poems in various journals, and several published books! I still love showing off the physical evidence of all my work, and I have a show-and-tell bag that I carry with me most places, full of books and art.
When I was first starting out, I spent a year deciding if going indie was the right decision. The traditional publishing route was certainly an option, but it didn't seem right for me. I like having my touch on every aspect of the book, from the writing to the design to the cover art. That's not to say I don't have help publishing my books because I definitely do, but all of the creative decisions are up to me. And I like it that way! Sure, it's more work, but I get to have a smaller, more close-knit audience, and I have more freedom with publishing things that are brand new for me. No big publishing company can tell me not to experiment with my writing (or my art).
If you like slice-of-life, character-driven stories, you're in the right place! I like to write queer characters with endearing personalities and strange lives. Whether they're a sentient robot angrily navigating the judicial system of North Carolina or a touch-starved bookstore owner accidentally summoning a succubus, my plots involve loving life for its sweet, slow moments.
Thank you for being here! <3
